Sierra Vista Diamonds Play To A Third Place Finish in Rex Allen Days U-14 Tournament

The Sierra Vista Diamonds went 4-2-2 at the 9 team, single elimination, Rex Allen Days Tournament held in Wilcox, Arizona. The Diamonds Played the Marana Avengers, Wilcox Blue Heat and Tucson Adrenaline, in Pool Play and ended the night 2-1. The Diamond girls ranging in age from 11 to 15 held their own during the three game pool play on Saturday the 1st of October by winning two games and losing to the Marana Avengers 6-5. On Sunday the Diamond’s pitching and batting was still hot from the day before, and they went on to win their first two tournament games. The Diamonds played a tough Douglas Bandit team semifinal game and held their own through the first three innings. Eventually the Bandits experienced bats and pitching got the best of the Diamonds.

Upcoming: This coming week the Diamonds will again be playing tournament ball. They will at Jacobs Sports Park in Tucson, AZ playing in a 10 team tournament scheduled to be held Saturday Oct. 15th thru Sunday Oct. 16 2016. We are expecting 10 teams will play in this tournament. Tournament will be a 5 game guarantee. Format will be pool play into either single or double elimination depending on the number of teams.
